Patriots Re-Signing K Stephen Gostkowski To Two-Year, $8.5M Deal

Update:

Adam Schefter reports that Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski‘s two-year deal with worth $8.5 million.

Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are re-signing kicker Stephen Gostkowski to a two-year contract on Tuesday.

This comes shortly after a report mentioned that the 49ers had shown interest in Gostkowski.

The Patriots and Gostkowski had reportedly been in talks, but it took a bit for them to finally reach an agreement.

The Patriots made Gostkowski the highest-paid kicker in the NFL with a four-year, $17.2 million deal in 2017. The Patriots were reportedly seeking a “market correction” after no other teams beat that contract for kickers.

Gostkowski, 35, is a former fourth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2006. He’s played his entire 13-year career in New England and just finished out his four-year, $17.2 million contract.

In 2018, Gostkowski appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and converted 27 of 32 field goal attempts (84.4 percent) to go along with 49 of 50 extra point tries (98 percent).
