Patriots Sign S Eddie Pleasant & OL Nate Theaker, Waive WR Cody Hollister

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots waived WR Cody Hollister with a non-football injury designation and signed OL Nate Theaker to a contract.

Pleasant, 29, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. The Texans cut Pleasant coming out of the preseason before adding him to their practice squad.

Houston elected to re-sign Pleasant to a two-year, $2.15 million contract back in 2016 and he wound up finishing out the deal.

In 2017, Pleasant appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and recorded 32 tackles, two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and three pass defenses.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Hollister, 24, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas last May. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.

New England elected to bring Hollister back on a futures contract this past February.
