According to Pro Football Talk, Patroits TE Rob Gronkowski is expected to be medically cleared during this week and is likely to play against the Saints in Week 6.

There has been a good deal of speculation over the past couple of weeks regarding Gronkowski’s availability. Some reports suggested that there was a rift between Gronkowski’s camp and the Patriots, but that has been refuted in recent weeks.

Gronkowski has been able to participate in practice for a few weeks now, so he hasn’t been too far off from returning to game-action. He obviously needed to ensure that he was as close to 100 percent, considering that he’s undergo numerous surgeries on his forearm and back this offseason.

The Patriots currently rank No. 21 in the league in passing offense, so Gronkowski will be a welcomed addition. Tom Brady figures to be looking Gronkowski’s way early and often due to the lack of talent at every other skill position on offense. New England will need the added help on the offense since they’re up against the Saints high-powered offense this weekend.
