The New England Patriots placed CB Rashaan Melvin and LB James Vaughters on waivers Monday, according to Mike Reiss.
Melvin, 26, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in 2013. He later caught on with the Dolphins for a brief period of time before being signed off of Miami’s practice squad by the Ravens.
The Patriots claimed Melvin off of waivers from the Ravens back in October of last year. He returned to New England on a future/reserve contract.
In 2015, has appeared in nine games and recorded seven tackles for the Patriots.
