Peter King of SI.com reports that Peyton Manning wants he and WR Reggie Wayne to be a “package deal” for team that is interested in signing the veteran quarterback.
King mentions that “at least” two NFL teams are already interested in the idea and he adds that the Dolphins, Jets, Seahawks, Redskins and Cardinals could all be options.
To me, this seems like a win-win-win situation for all parties involved. Manning gets to have one of the guys that he’s been working with for the last x-amount of years, Wayne will be able to draw more interest this way, and the prospective team get’s two working parts rather than forcing Manning to develop some chemistry with new receivers. The idea has been proposed for some time now but this is the first report suggesting as much.
