Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that an MRI Monday morning revealed that Peyton Manning aggravated his right high ankle sprain and he has “no new damage.”
- Klis’ source added that Manning “absolutely will play Sunday against Chiefs.”
Manning was not sporting a boot on his injured foot, which was the first indication that injury wasn’t all that serious. Manning’s took a low hit towards the end of Sunday’s win over the Chargers. Initially, it looked like Manning may have suffered a knee injury, but that is clearly not the case.
“I’m pretty sore,” Manning said following the game. “They kind of got me twice in that lower area. … Get an MRI tomorrow and will know more then.”
It would be very disappointing to see the Broncos go up against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs without Manning under center.
