According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Raiders, Bears, and Falcons could all be options for recently fired HC Rex Ryan.
- Ian Rapoport confirms that Ryan will take a job in television in the event that he doesn’t secure another head coaching opportunity.
The Bears and Falconsย have yet to officially move on from their current head coaches, but bothย are expected to do so soon enough.
As Florio writes, “Oakland, Chicago, and Atlanta could do a lot worse than Ryan, whoโll have even greater motivation in his second job to prove that he can compete at the highest levels of the NFL.”
Numerous reports in the past few weeks have connected Ryan to the Falcons given that he previously applied for their job before landing with the Jets.
Since taking over as the Jets head coach in 2009, Ryan has led the Jets to a record of 45-50 (.474) to go along with four playoff wins. However, his defenses have ranked 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 11th and 6th during this time.
We’ll have more updates regardingย Ryanย as the news is available.
