Raiders Considering Trading Darren McFadden?

Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times tweets that the Oakland Raiders could look to trade some of their players and Corkran mentions RB Darren McFadden‘s name specifically.

Corkran refers to McFadden as the teams’ “best bargaining chip.

Oakland may consider moving some of their players to get back some of the draft picks that they’ve trade away in recent years, thanks in large part to duo of Al Davis and Hue Jackson. McFadden is still playing under his rookie contract which has him making $5.65 million next season and another $5.86 million the year after that.

I’ll admit that the idea is interesting but it seems very unlikely that the Raiders would trade away a talented running back and find reasonable compensation for him. McFadden’s injury history is a concern and there will be plenty of more cost-efficient options available for team’s looking to upgrade at the position. I really can’t see this happening.
