The Las Vegas Raiders announced Saturday that they’ve elevated defensive ends Datone Jones and Chris Smith to their active roster.
Both players will revert back to the Raiders’ practice squad on Monday.
Jones, 30, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7.71 million rookie contract but the Packers declined to pick up Jones’ fifth-year option for the 2017 season.
Minnesota signed him to a one-year, $3.75 million deal in 2017 but he was, unfortunately, placed on injured reserve and later released with a settlement. After brief stints with the Lions, 49ers, and Cowboys, Jones signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars last summer.
Jacksonville would later release Jones coming out of the preseason. He signed on with the Raiders back in August and was eventually added to their practice squad.
For his career, Jones has appeared in 67 games for the Cowboys, 49ers and Packers and recorded 89 tackles, 10 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and eight passes defended.
