Raiders Hosting Jordy Nelson For Visit

Michael Gehlken reports that the Raiders are hosting free agent WR Jordy Nelson for a visit.

Some had wondered if Nelson was planning to continue his career, but it looks like he’s already prepared to get a head start on free agency with a quick visit to Oakland.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Nelson, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $43 million contract and set to make a base salary of $9.25 million for the 2018 season when the Packers released him in a move that freed up $10,218,750 of available cap space.

In 2017, Nelson appeared in 15 games for the Packers and caught 53 passes for 482 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
