Raiders Reportedly Looking For First-Round Pick In Trade Talks For Amari Cooper

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirms the reports that the Raiders have S Karl Joseph and WR Amari Cooper available for trade.

However, Rapoport says that Oakland is asking for a first-round pick in return for Cooper, which could make a deal “difficult, if not impossible.”

Jay Glazer of FOX Sportsย first reported that the Raiders have been shopping Cooper butย HC Jon Gruden later denied that they’ve discussed moving the former first-round pick

โ€œI donโ€™t know,โ€ Gruden said, per Scott Bair. โ€œI havenโ€™t heard that. Iโ€™m not. Iโ€™m not. Iโ€™m just sorry to have to deal with a lot of these reports. I just hope Amariโ€™s OK. Like I said, heโ€™s going to be a big part of our pass offense.โ€

Cooper, 24, is a former No. 4 overall pick by the Raiders out of Alabama in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of his four-year,ย $22.7 million fully guaranteed rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary ofย ย $705,000 for 2018 to go along with a $2,825,426 roster bonus.

The Raiders picked up Cooper’s fifth-year option back in April, which will cost them $13,924,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Cooper has appeared in five games for the Raiders and caught 22 passes for 280 yards receiving and one touchdown. He has also rushed for nine yards on one carry.

We’ll have more regarding a potential tradeย involving Cooper as the news is available.
