Raiders Restructure Tyvon Branch’s Contract

Steve Corkran reports that the Oakland Raiders have restructured the contract of S Tyvon Branch.

Branch, 26, had a base salary of $6 million for the 2013 season. The Raiders have lowered that figure to $715,000.

Typically, teams pay out the difference in a bonus that’s prorated over the remainder of the player’s contract. This provides cap relief in the time being.

Branch signed a four-year deal worth $26.6 million that contained $17.6 million guaranteed last year.
