The Oakland Raiders signed rookie safety Jeremy Deering to a contract on Monday, according to Vic Tafur.
Deering, 23, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers, but lasted less than a week with the team before he was placed on waivers.
Deering began his career as a receiver, but later converted to defensive back during his senior season. In 2013, he recordedย 39 tackles, an interception and a pass defensed.
