Raiders Signing CB Nevin Lawson To One-Year, $3.05M Deal

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that the Raiders are signing CB Nevin Lawson to a one-year contract worth $3.05 million.

Dianna Russini reports that the Raiders have signed former Lions CB Nevin Lawson to a contract on Wednesday.

The Raiders brought him in for a visit today, so they were clearly impressed enough to quickly get a deal done.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Lawson to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Lawson, 27, is a former fourth-round pick by the Lions out of Utah State back in the 2014 NFL Draft. He finished his four-year, $3,449,349 rookie contract before agreeing to a two-year, $10.3 million contract with the Lions last year.

The Lions released Lawson last week.

In 2018, Lawson appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 53 tackles, one sack, no interceptions and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 91 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 Available Free Agents list.
