Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Rams will interview interim HC John Fassel for their head-coaching job on Monday.
However, the process of meeting with other candidates will be determined by who’s available on to be interviewed with some options still working for teams in the playoffs.
Florio adds that the Rams have interest in Bills interim HC Anthony Lynn for their head-coaching job but it’s possible that Buffalo could move quickly to hire him.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Rams have been linked to Saints HC Sean Payton, but that would require a trade and compensation in terms of draft picks and salary could always complicate things further.
Fassel, 42, began his NFL coaching career with the Ravens as an assistant special teams coach back in 2005. He spent four years with the Raiders before joining the Rams in 2012 and has worked as their special teams coordinator before being promoted to head coach after they fired Jeff Fisher.
We’ll have more regarding Jaguars’ head-coaching position as the news is available.
