Rams Make Several Roster Moves Including Promoting OT Isaiah Battle

Update:

Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced several roster moves on Tuesday.

Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced that they’re promoting supplemental draft pick OT Isaiah Battle to their active roster on Monday, per Nick Wagoner.

This comes after the news that OT Darrell Williams and G Jamon Brown are both out for the season with injuries.

The Rams used a fifth-round supplement pick on Battle during the summer. However, he was surprisingly among their final roster cuts just a few months later.

St. Louis was able to get him on their practice squad after he cleared waivers, and later gave his a $25,588 per week raise, which leaves him as the highest paid practice squad player in the NFL.

Battle became the first player taken in a Supplemental Draft since the Browns used a second-round pick on Josh Gordon back in 2012.

Battle played in 27 career games and started 11 contests last season while playing more snaps than any other Clemson player (824).

During time at Clemson, Battle served a suspension in 2013 for punching a player, and another last season for disciplinary reasons. Battle was also pulled over for speeding in early June and caught with marijuana. He received citations for both incidents, but wasn’t not charged or arrested in either case.
