Gurley, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2015. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $13.823 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $2.31 million for the 2018 season.
The Rams can pick up the fifth-year option included in Gurley’s contract later this year, which is a no-brainer move for the team.
In 2017, Gurley appeared in 15 games for the Rams and rushed for 1,305 yards on 279 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with 64 receptions for 788 yards receiving and 19 total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 1 running back out of 57 qualifying players.
