Rams RB Trey Watts Suspended Four Games For Substance-Abuse Violation

Rams RB Trey Watts suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.

There’s no word as to what Watts specifically did to earn the four-game ban, but with him being one of eight running backs currently on the Rams’ roster, this news won’t help his chances of securing a roster spot coming out of the preseason.

Watts, 24, has two years remaining on his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract. He stands to make a bases salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season and another $600,000 in 2016.

Last year, Watts appeared in 14 games for the Rams and ran for 30 yards on seven carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with three receptions for 18 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
