Rams Reached Out To Kliff Kingsbury About Joining Them For Stretch Run

Peter Schrager reports that Rams HC Sean McVay reached out to former Texas Tech HC Kliff Kingsbury last week and discussed having him join them for a stretch run in an offensive assistant/consultant role.

According to Schrager, there’s significant NFL interest in Kingsbury.

Last week, reports said that Kingsbury was expected to be hired by USC as their offensive coordinator, but they were later refuted. Even so, Bruce Feldman reports that Kingsbury is very intrigued by the USC situation and could make a decision in the middle of the week.

Kingsbury, 35, was hired as the Texas Tech head coach back in 2013 and spent six years in the position before he was fired a few weeks ago.

During his six seasons at Texas Tech, Kingsbury led them to a record of 35-40 (46.7 percent), which includes three Bowl game appearances.

We’ll have more regarding Kingsbury as the news is available.
