The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday that they’ve officially re-signed OLB Pernell McPhee and waived WR Sean Modster.
McPhee is working his way back from a triceps injury that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve last year.
McPhee, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.
The Bears released McPhee last year and he later signed a one-year, $1.8 million deal with the Redskins for the 2018 season. McPhee returned to the Ravens last year on a one-year deal.
In 2019, McPhee appeared in seven games for the Ravens and recorded 19 tackles, three sacks and a pass defense.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
Modster, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Boise State last year. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Ravens but was waived coming out of the preseason.
From there, Modster was on and off of the Ravens’ practice squad before returning to Baltimore this past January on a futures contract.
During his four-year college career at Boise State, Modster caught 111 passes for 1,487 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns over the course of 33 games.
