Ravens S Tony Jefferson Out For Season With Torn ACL

Ravens HC John Harbaugh announced following Sunday’s game that S Tony Jefferson suffered a season-ending ACL tear.

According to Harbaugh, there could be more damage than just ACL for Jefferson’s knee.

David Chao says that the concern for Jefferson is that he has damage to both his ACL and LCL, which could put at least part of his 2020 season in jeopardy as well.

Jefferson was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

You can expect the Ravens to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Jefferson, 27, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract in Arizona before signing a four-year, $34 million contract that included $19 million guaranteed with the Ravens in 2017.

Jefferson stands to make a base salary of $8 million for the 2019 season.

Entering today’s game, Jefferson had appeared in four games and recorded 20 tackles, no interceptions and two pass defenses.
