According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans are exploring the trade market at receiver following WR Jayden Higgins‘ injury.
Wilson mentions that Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte and Ravens WR Rashod Bateman are among the potential targets.
Wilson adds that a reunion with DeAndre Hopkins is not expected after the former All-Pro accepted Georgia Tech’s assistant receivers coach role.
Boutte emerged as a top trade candidate early in the offseason, but a move still has not come together. New England acquired WR A.J. Brown, and they also signed WR Romeo Doubs in free agency, making Boutte expendable entering the final year of his rookie deal.
In May, SI.com’s Albert Breer wrote that he thinks the Patriots are looking for a day three pick and believes Boutte could be had for a fifth or sixth-round pick.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN also reported in March that Bateman is among the wide receivers who are “potentially available” for trade this offseason. While the Ravens did invest to keep Bateman a few years ago, he hasn’t been a high impact player for them.
Boutte, 23, was a freshman All-American and freshman All-SEC selection for LSU. He declared for the 2023 NFL Draft after three seasons at LSU
The Patriots selected him in the sixth round and signed him to a four-year deal worth $4.027 million, which included a $187,274 signing bonus.
In 2025, Boutte appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and recorded 33 receptions on 46 targets for 551 yards (16.7 YPC) and six touchdowns.
Bateman, 26, was a three-year starter at Minnesota and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore. He opted out after seven games in 2020.
The Ravens used the No. 27 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Bateman. He signed a four-year, $12,599,412 contract with the Ravens that included a $6,523,209 signing bonus.
He was entering the final year of his rookie deal when the Ravens signed him to a three-year deal through 2026 in lieu of picking up his fifth-year option. The team then signed him to a three-year, $36.75 million extension the following offseason.
In 2025, Bateman appeared in 13 games for the Ravens and caught 19 passes for 224 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
