TMZ Sports reports that Ravens WR Rashod Bateman was arrested on June 3 for allegedly smashing the windows of his baby mama’s car while the child was in the back seat.
The Ravens issued the following statement regarding Bateman:
“We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment.”
Authorities claim that Bateman broke the windshield and driver’s side window of the alleged victim’s car with an unidentified object.
Bateman’s arrest warrant says that police saw some shards of glass in the victims face along with multiple contusions that were apparently caused from the glass shattering.
Bateman’s attorneys said that their client surrendered to police the same day.
Bateman asked the court to remove the no-contact order, claiming that the alleged victim had indicated that she wanted to have contact with him. The request was later signed off on, but still requested that Bateman not to have violent contact with the mother of his child.
Bateman is allowed to see her once he completes a class.
Bateman, 26, was a three-year starter at Minnesota and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore. He opted out after seven games in 2020.
The Ravens used the No. 27 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Bateman. He signed a four-year, $12,599,412 contract with the Ravens that included a $6,523,209 signing bonus.
He was entering the final year of his rookie deal when the Ravens signed him to a three-year deal through 2026 in lieu of picking up his fifth-year option. The team then signed him to a three-year, $36.75 million extension the following offseason.
In 2025, Bateman appeared in 13 games for the Ravens and caught 19 passes for 224 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
