The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday that they’veย signed TE Gabe Holmes and CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste to their practice squad.
- The Ravens also released CBย Josh Thorntonย and placed FB Ricky Ortiz on the practice squad injured list.
The Ravens’ practice squad now consists of:
- FB Ricky Ortiz (Injured)
- Gย Maurquice Shakir
- WR Quincy Adeboyejo
- QB Josh Woodrum
- Sย Ronald Martin
- G Arie Kouandjio
- LB Nicholas Grigsby
- RBย John Crockett
- TE Ryan Malleck
- TE Gabe Holmes
- CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
Holmes, 26, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of preseason, but was cut loose just a few weeks later.
The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and elected to bring Holmes back on a one-year,ย exclusive rights contract this past April. Unfortunately, Oakland waived him coming out of the preseason and he later signed on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.
Seattle elected to release him last week.
Holmes has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Jean-Baptiste, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Saints back in 2014.ย He lasted just over a year in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Lions’ practice squad.
The Seahawks signed him towards the end of the 2015 season and brought him back on a future/reserve contract. However, Seattle declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent this past March.
The Chiefs later signed him to a contract a few months ago before cutting him loose in June.ย The Jaguars signed him to a contract a month later before waiving him coming out of the preseason.
In 2014, Jean-Baptiste appeared in four games for the Saints, but didn’t record a single statistic.
