John Keim of ESPN.com writes that he would be โsurprisedโ if the Redskins didnโt show interest in recently released ILB DโQwell Jackson.
Keim points to the fact that Washington could use a veteran presence at inside linebacker and currently outside linebackers coach Brian Baker worked with Jackson in Cleveland a few years ago.
A source who spoke with Keim wouldnโt admit interest in Jackson as his release has yet to become official, so any interest at this point would be considered tampering.
Keim does, however, add that the Redskins have โdone their homework on him.โ
- Jason La Canfora reports that seven NFL teams have already reached out to veteran ILB DโQwell Jackson after being released earlier today.
- Jeff Darlingon reports that Jackson already has a visit linted up for Thursday.
Jackson, 30, contributed 139 tackles, one sack, an interception and a forced fumble over the course of 16 games to the Brownsโ defense last year. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 42 inside linebacker last season.
