Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins Out For Week 17 With High Ankle Sprain

Update:

Redskins interim HC Bill Callahan announced Monday rookie QB Dwayne Haskins is out for Week 17’s game with a high ankle sprain.

According to Ian Rapoport, Redskins first-round rookie QB Dwayne Haskins suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s game.

Rapoport says Haskins is undergoing an MRI to determine if he’ll be able to play in the season finale but there’s no indication yet if he’ll be able to.

If Haskins can’t go in Week 17, Redskins QB Case Keenum would step back into the starting lineup.

Haskins, 22, was selected by the Redskins with the No. 14 overall pick after many believed he would end up being a top-10 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. According to OverTheCap.com, Haskins received a four-year, $14,416,600 rookie contract that includes $8,504,800 signing bonus.

Haskins’ contract includes a fifth-year option for the Redskins to pick up in 2022.

In 2019, Haskins has appeared in nine games for the Redskins and completed 58.6 percent of his passes to go along with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 101 yards.
