Sky Kerstein first reported that the Redskins have informed C Will Montgomery that he will be released.

Montgomery, 31, still had three years remaining on his four-year, $12 million contract. His cap figure for the 2014 season was $3.425 million and the Redskins will free up $1.925 million in cap space with this move.
Pro Football Focus had Montgomery down for playing 1172 snaps last season and grading out as the No. 15 center in league last season. He was a solid run-blocker, according to their ratings.
