Redskins Starting QB Dwayne Haskins In Week 9

Redskins interim HC Bill Callahan announced Friday that they will give rookie QB Dwayne Haskins his first NFL start in Week 9 against the Bills, according to JP Finlay

According to Callahan, Colt McCoy will back up Haskins, as Case Keenum is still in the concussion protocol.

Haskins, 22, was selected by the Redskins with the No. 14 overall pick after many believed he would end up being a top-10 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. According to OverTheCap.com, Haskins receives a four-year, $14,416,600 rookie contract that includes $8,504,800 signing bonus.

Haskins’ contract includes a fifth-year option for the Redskins to pick up in 2022.

In 2019, Haskins has appeared in two games for the Redskins and completed 54.5 percent of his passes for 140 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also rushed for 23 yards.
