Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Redskins TE Jordan Reed‘s NFL career could be in jeopardy after suffering his latest concussion.
Schefter says that there are some within the Redskins organization and around the league that are concerned Reed will not be able to play again.
Reed is continuing to undergo testing, but Schefter says “the player, the team and doctors know what he is up against.”
Reed is estimated to have sustained seven concussions since entering the NFL.
Reed, 28, was taken in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Redskins. He was in the final year of his rookie contract when he signed a six-year, $48 million deal that included $22 million guaranteed with Washington.
Reed stands to make base salaries of $7.67 million and $8.25 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Reed appeared in 13 games and caught 54 passes for 558 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Weโll have more regarding Reed as the news is available.
