Elliott, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team, which is why he’s been testing the open market.
Elliott re-signed with the Packers this offseason but was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season for aย conditional seventh-round pick in 2018. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks.
In 2016, Elliott appeared in 11 games for the Packers and recorded 19 tackles and sack.
Odighizuwa, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $3.16 million rookieย contract and set to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement when he was waived during the preseason.
In a surprising move, Odighizuwa decided to not attend the Giants’ minicamp and posted a tweet in which he hinted at possibly retiring from the NFL. Although, he later clarified that he wasn’t walking away from football.
Odighizuwa was suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season for violating the league’s PED policy back in August and waived by the Giants soon after.
In 2016, Odighizuwa appeared in 14 games for the Giants and recorded three tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.ย Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 170 total snaps last season.
