The Washington Redskins officially waived RB Silas Redd on Tuesday after he was reinstated from the reserve/suspended list.
Redd was suspended indefinitely without pay for violating league’s substance-abuse policy.
Redd, 24, signed on with Washington as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in May of last year. He’s in the final year of hisย three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract, which includes a base salary ofย $600,000 for the 2015 season.
In 2014, Redd appeared in 14 games for the Redskins, rushing for 75 yards on 16 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 107 yards receiving and one total touchdown.
Last year,ย Redd was placed onย season-ending injured reserve after suffering an ACL injury back in August.
