Redskins Worked Out 11 Players Including DL Tyson Jackson & DT Will Sutton

According to Howard Balzer, the Washington Redskins brought in free agents for workouts on Wednesday including DEย Tyson Jackson.

The full list of tryouts for the Redskins includes:

  1. RB Kapri Bibbs
  2. RB Dare Ogunbowale
  3. RB Denard Robinson
  4. RB Jahad Thomas
  5. DL Stefan Charles
  6. DL Tyson Jackson
  7. DL Caraun Reid
  8. DL Will Sutton
  9. WR Keyarris Garrett
  10. WR Francis Owusu
  11. WR Keenan Reynolds

Of this group, the Redskins signed Reynolds to their practice squad.

Jackson has worked out for the Texans, 49ers and Rams since he became available.

Jackson, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2014.ย He signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the Falcons back in 2014 and was set to make a base salary of $3.5 million over the next two years when the Falcons released him back this past March in a move that freed upย $2.65 million of available cap space.

In 2016, Jackson appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 13 tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.

Sutton, 25, was taken in the third round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Bears. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2,851,068 contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2017 season when the Bears recently cut him loose back in May.

The Vikings quickly signed Sutton to a deal, but decided to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.

In 2016, Sutton appeared in eight games and recorded 15 tackles and no sacks for the Bears.

Robinson, 27, is a former fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2013 NFL Draft. He finished his four-year rookie contract and has been exploring the open market since March.

The Cowboys hosted Robinson for a tryout back in July but did not sign him to a contract.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in 13 games for the Jaguars and recorded 144 yards on 41 attempts (3.5 YPC) and no touchdowns. He also finished with three receptions for 22 yards.
