Jason Reid of the Washington Post writes that Redskins HC Mike Shanahan has showed confidence in WR Pierre Garçon despite his right foot injury that has been bothering him since Week 1.
“You will see that he’s a definite No. 1 receiver,” Shanahan said, “No ifs, ands or buts about it, he just can’t push off on it,”
The Redskins have listed Garçon doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Giants, but he’s unlikely to play. Shanahan has referred to Garçon as the best blocking receiver he’s ever coached, but right now they will probably be shutting Garçon down until Week 11, a week before the team’s bye week.

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is not sure when he’ll return to the field, per John Keim.
Garcon said it was “tough to run as fast” when playing because of his foot injury, and did not practice on Wednesday.
Garcon has not been able to get back to full health since the Redskins’ season-opener against the New Orleans Saints, and is expected to sit out this week against the New York Giants.
