Redskins Have Yet To Speak With S Su’a Cravens Regarding Future With Team

Redskins executive Doug Williams said that the team has yet to speak with S Su’a Cravens regarding his future with the team.

“That’s something we will have to see,” said Williams, via JP Finlay of NBC Sports.

Earlier this week,  Jason La Canfora reported that the Redskins are trying to see what they get in return for trading Cravens, so Washington clearly is strongly considering moving on from him this offseason.

Cravens was officially reinstated by the NFL a few weeks ago after spending the 2017 season on the reserve/left squad list.

A few months ago, Adam Schefter reported that Cravens received medical clearance to resume all football activities and plans to play next season.

There have been questions about whether the Redskins would want Cravens back after he walked away from the team, so it’s not surprising to hear that they’re willing to see what’s out there for him in the trade market.

Cravens, 22, is a former second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $4.430 million contract that included $2.523 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $450,000 and $651,408 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Cravens appeared in 11 games for the Redskins and recorded 34 tackles, one sack, an interception and five pass defenses. Cravens was limited to playing 294 total snaps last year.
