Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that former Vikings CB Chris Cook is signing a one-year deal with 49ers.
He was in San Francisco for a visit on Thursday, and the 49ers had reportedly been considering other cornerback options like re-signing Tarell Brown.
Cook, 27, fits the mold of cornerbacks that the 49ers prefer in that he is tall and long-armed. He totaled 47 tackles and three pass defenses over the course of 12 games for the Vikings last year.
Pro Football Focus rated Cook as the No. 95 cornerback in the league out of 110 qualifying players last season.
