Report: Bears Targeting Andy Levitre, Jake Long & Jermon Bushrod

Update:

Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that a source mentioned that the Bears also have interest in free agent G Andy Levitre.

Levitre is widely considered to be the best available guard in the free agent. He could be a tough sign for them, but it’s certainly a possibility.

We have him listed as the No. 7 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Update:

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that the Chicago Bears have Jake Long and Jermon Bushrod on their free agent wish list.

Brad Biggs reported earlier in the day that the Bears were “hot on” Phil Loadholt as well, so it’s clear that they’ve prioritized signing one of this year’s best offensive lineman.

Previous reports indicated that the Bears were monitoring some of this year’s below the radar guards like Kevin BootheBrandon Moore, and Donald Thomas, so there’s a chance that they could add multiple players in the coming days.

We have both Long and Bushrod listed in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that an NFL source has informed him that the Bears are “hot on” OT Phil Loadholt.

Tom Pelissero adds that the Bears are actually offering more than the Vikings who don’t want to pay more than $5 million per year.

The Vikings have said that they would like to re-sign Loadholt and reports from last night indicated that they were still working on a new contract.

Loadholt has been a very solid tackle in past few years, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a better than expected market for his services.

We have him listed as the No. 17 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
