Report: Bengals Parting Ways With OC Bill Lazor

Jeremy Rauch of FOX 19 reports that Bengals offensive coordinator Bill Lazor is out in Cincinnati.

Assuming the reports that the Bengals are planning to hire Rams QB coach Zac Taylor are accurate, it’s not surprising that they would move on from Lazor as their offensive coordinator, given that they would have a new offense next year.

Lazor, 46, began his NFL coaching career with the Falcons in 2003 as an offensive quality control coach. From there, Lazor worked for a number of teams including the Redskins, Seahawks, Eagles and Dolphins before the Bengals hired him as their quarterbacks coach in 2016.

After the Bengals fired OC Ken Zampese a few weeks into the 2017 season, Lazor was promoted to offensive coordinator. The Bengals elected to retain Lazor as their offensive coordinator last year.

In 2018, the Bengals’ offense ranked No. 26 in total yards, No. 17 in points scored, No. 21 in rushing yards and No. 24 in passing yards.
