Report: Broncos Expected To Make LT Ryan Clady A New Offer Next Week

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a source with knowledge of the situation has informed him that the Broncos are expected to make LT Ryan Clady a new offer at some point next week.

Clady, 26, has yet to sign his franchise tender. The two sides will have until July 15 to work out a long-term extension. It’s worth noting that both parties reportedly exchanged proposals last month, but there’s obviously more work that needs to be done.

Previous reports have indicated that Clady is seeking at least $10 million annually in his next contract and could hold out for a similar deal to that of Browns LT Joe Thomas (eight-years, $92 million deal with $44 million guaranteed).

We have Clady listed as the No. 3 player in our Top 50 – 2014 Free Agents list.

Len Pasquarelli of the National Football Post reports that the Broncos and LT Ryan Clady “aren’t close” to reaching an agreement on a long-term extension.

  • Pasquarelli adds that the two sides have resumed talks in recent week and the Broncos have reportedly extended Clady an offer.
  • Clady’s reps are reportedly preparing a counter offer.

Jason La Canfora of CBS reported a few weeks ago that there was “some sense” that the Broncos could get Clady under contract before July 15 deadline.

It’s clear that Clady remains a priority for Denver, so we’ll have to see if the two sides are able to get something hammered out in the comings or if Clady’s asking price remains too high.
