Update: According to Jeremy Fowler, the Broncos will indeed sign a one-year deal with QB Blake Bortles following his visit this week.
According to Mike Klis, free-agent QB Blake Bortles is one of the options the Broncos are looking at and is under strong consideration as a potential signing.
Adam Schefter says Denver will host Bortles for a visit Tuesday, adding he nearly landed with the Broncos when he was a free agent last year.
Bortles spent last season as a backup with the Rams and would fill a similar role in Denver, who just lost starting QB Drew Lock to a shoulder injury for a few weeks.
Bortles, 28, was taken with the No. 3 overall pick by the Jaguars back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $20,654,796 rookie contract when the Jaguars picked up his fifth-year option.
Jacksonville elected to sign Bortles to a three-year, $54 million contract that included $26.5 million guaranteed. However, they cut him loose last year after signing Nick Foles to a contract.
Bortles caught on with the Rams on a one-year, $1 million deal for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Bortles appeared in three games for the Rams and completed one of his two passing attempts for three yards.
