Josina Andersonย of ESPN reports that former Vikings HCย Leslie Frazier tells her that he’sย “going to Tampa” to be the Buccaneers new defensive coordinator.
Previous reports indicated that the Buccaneers were consideringย Cowboys OL coachย Rod Marinelliย and Frazier for the job, but it appears as though Frazier won out in the end.
It’s worth noting thatย Marinelli is under contract with the Cowboys, so they could have prevented him from taking the job.
- Ian Rapoportย reports that the Cowboys would not allow DLย Rod Marinelliย out of his contract to join the Buccaneers as their defensive coordinator. (Update: 9:18 pm)
Frazier,ย 54, joinsย Lovie Smith’s new coaching staff that also includesย former University of California HCย Jeff Tedfordย who is their new offensive coordinator. Both Frazier and Smith come from the Tony Dungy coaching tree.ย Frazier has held three previous defensive coordinator jobs with the Vikings, Colts and Eagles.
