ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Miami Dolphins are placing former third-round pick TEย Michael Egnew on waivers Friday.
There is no question thatย Egnew has been a major disappointment in his first years in the NFL, and with a new GM in place for the Dolphins, it seemed likely that Miami would be parting ways with him at some point in the coming weeks.
Egnew, 24, was entering the third year of his four-year, $2,776,456 contract and was set to earn a base salary ofย $585,000 for the 2014 season.
