Report: Jonathan Vilma’s Reps Reached Out To The Dolphins, But Found No Interest

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that formerย Saints ILBย Jonathan Vilma had his representationย reach out to the Dolphins about possibly signing him to a contract.

According to Jackson, the Dolphins showed “no interest” in signing Vilma.

Vilma’s agents have beenย working to drum up interest in their client.ย ESPN’s Adam Schefterย passed along word thatย Vilmaย is nowย “healthy and ready” after missing pretty much the entireย 2013 season.

This cameย in response to the news that Cowboys MLBย Sean Leeย is expected to missย the 2014 season with a torn left ACL that he suffered in OTAsย last week.

Vilma, 32, hasn’t found any reported interestย the entire offseason, but there could end up being increased interest in free agents now that it’s June 1 and signing players won’t count against a team’s 2015 compensatory formula.

It’s worth mentioning that Vilma has missed 25 games over the course of the past three seasons.

We have him listed as the No. 50 player in ourย recently updatedย Top 50 – Best Available Free Agentsย list.
