Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions have signedย S Don Carey to a three-year deal.
- Birkett adds that Carey received anย $800,000 signing bonus.
Carey, 26, played in 14 games for the Lions this season contributing 30 tackles, one forced fumble and two pass defenses. Overall, Carey held up better against the run than in coverage. Clearly, the Lions believe he has more upside than what he showed in 2013.
Detroit’s secondary continues to be a weak spot of their defense, so there is a chance that more changes could be coming in the next few months.
