Report: NFL GMs Expect Rams To Take Jake Matthews If They Can’t Trade Out Of No. 2

Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net reports that NFL GMs expect the Rams to draft Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews at No. 2 in the event that they are unable to trade out of their current slot.

Pauline adds that the Rams are expected to continue shopping their No. 2 pick leading up to tonight’s draft.

While this isn’t the first we’ve heard that Matthews could be an option for the Rams, the overall consensus has been that Auburn OT Greg Robinson will be their pick.

Many draft analysts have said that Robinson could end up having the higher ceiling, but they have also mentioned that Matthews is the more pro-ready tackle prospect.

It’s worth mentioning that Matthews father, Bruce, coached with Jeff Fisher while in Tennessee, so it’s hard to imagine anyone having a better understanding of what kind of player he is than Fisher.
