Report: Panthers Bringing Back LB Dan Connor

Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed them that the Panthers are signing LB Dan Connor Wednesday.

Connor, 28, spent four seasons with the Panthers before signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an unrestricted free agent in 2012. He was cut loose by the Cowboys and later signed with the Giants only to suffered neck injury that forced New York to place him on injured reserve.

Connor, now healthy, was release with an injury settlement a little over a week ago. He mentioned that he is healthy and ready to play for another team, so it was just a matter of time before he caught on with a new club.

The Panthers will almost certainly ease him into their defense. It’s hard to imagine him playing a whole lot barring an injury at linebacker, but he should at least provide them with some decent depth.
