Report: Redskins Re-Sign QB Rex Grossman

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Redskins have re-signed QB Rex Grossman.

This is a somewhat surprising move given that they just signed Pat White to a one-year deal and already have Kirk Cousins firmly entrenched as Robert Griffin III‘s backup. On top of that, Washington has very limited cap space and is believed to still have interest in free agent CB Antoine Winfield.

Grossman, 32, didn’t play at all in 2012, so it’s seems likely that he will have to earn his roster spot during training camp. The move really seems like a contingency plan in case RGIII is unable to heal in time for the start of the season.
