Report: Vikings Have A “High-Level Of Interest” In WR Alshon Jeffery

Jeff Dickerson reports South Carolina WR Alshon Jeffery has been drawing interest from multiple teams such as the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears, but specifically mentions that the Vikings have a “high-level of interest.”

Jeffery was an All-American coming into the 2011 season, but a change in quarterback seemed to affect his overall production. Jeffery put together an underwhelming combine performance, but did manage to redeem himself at his pro day, where he posted times of a 4.4 and 4.5.

There’s no question that the Vikings will be looking for additional help at the wide receiver position, there’s a pretty good chance that they’ll end up using their #35 overall pick on someone.

The Bears still are looking at receivers despite trading for for WR Brandon Marshall, and the Jaguars could still use another receiver as well. The Jaguars will be selecting at #38, and the Bears are sitting at #50 overall. We have Jeffery going to the Jets at #47 in the second-round of our 2012 NFL Mock Draft.
