NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora tweets that the Saints have already discussed the possibility of releasing LB Jonathan Vilma.
La Canfora adds that they’re meeting with LB Curtis Lofton and have already been visited by David Hawthorne which suggests that they’re pretty serious about finding a replacement for the veteran linebacker.
Vilma’s role in the recent “bounty scandal” has been well documented as of late and there have been rumors that could be one his way out but nothing is imminent at this point.
