The New Orleans Saints officially ruled out a number of players for Week 7’s game including RB Alvin Kamara and TE Jared Cook.
The Saints also have QB Drew Brees, WR Tre’Quan Smith, and DL Trey Hendrickson out for Sunday’s game against the Bears.
Kamara is dealing with ankle and knee injuries and missed Friday’s practice, so it was clear he could be held out at least this week. Latavius Murray should serve as the team’s featured running back against a tough Bears’ defense.
Kamara, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2017. Kamara is in the third year of his four-year, $3.85 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $807,500 for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Kamar has appeared in six games for the Saints and rushed for 373 yards on 86 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 33 receptions for 276 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
