Ian Rapoport reports that Saintsย RB Daniel Lasco suffered aย bulging disc in his back during Sunday’s win over the Bills that will end his 2017 season.
Lasco was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, but the good news, according to Rapoport, is that while this was a scary injury, it’s notย thought to be career-ending.
Lasco took a big hit during theย second quarter of the game whileย covering a kickoff. After being down for a good period of time,ย Lasco wasย placed on a backboard and taken off byย ambulance.
You can expect the Saints to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.
Lasco, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Saints back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.415 million contract when the Saints waived him coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.
New Orleans promoted Lasco to their active roster last month.
In 2017, Lasco has appeared in three games for the Saints but has yet to record a statistic.
